Structure Fire in Nevada

On Saturday, January 6th, the Nevada Fire Department was called for a fire in the attic of a residence at 505 West Austin in Nevada.

Upon arrival crews found heavy smoke coming from the Roof of the structure.  Access to the attic was unable to be found due to lay out of the structure.  Ladder 216 was used to access fire on the third floor. Mutual aid was called from fire departments in Deerfield, Milo, and Walker.

There were no injuries reported but there were residents that have been displaced.  The Missouri State Fire Marshal has been called to assist as the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
