Harrisonville Bolws for Bright Futures

2nd annual Bowls for Bright Futures set for Feb. 20

Bright Futures Harrisonville invites the community to the second annual Bowls for Bright Futures fundraiser benefiting the organization’s Food 4 Thought weekend food program. Bowls for Bright Futures will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 20 from 4-7 p.m. in the Harrisonville High School cafeteria.

Guests will be able to make a minimum donation of $5/bowl to Bright Futures and enjoy a bowl of soup or chili provided by local restaurants. As part of the event, student-made pottery bowls will also be auctioned off.

Bright Futures is seeking sponsors for the event. Sponsors will be recognized with signage at the Bowls for Bright Futures event, as well as on the video board during the basketball games. Sponsorship levels include Bright Futures Partner ($1,000), Bright Futures Supporter ($500), or Bright Futures Donor ($100).

The goal for the event is to raise at $8,250 which is a quarter of the Food 4 Thought budget for the year.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Food 4 Thought Weekend food program which provides a box of child-friendly food each month to fill in on the weekends when school breakfast and lunch is unavailable. The program is funded solely through community donations and made possible through volunteers.

Currently 175 children receive the boxes each month and the annual cost for the program currently stands at approximately $33,000.
