On Main Shop and Stroll on second Wednesdays, will take place December 13 from
4:00 – 7:00 p.m. The following
businesses will be open extended hours for your Christmas shopping: Jina’s
Junque, Rural Roots, 3 Wishes, 4th St. Fika, Bluebird Lounge and the
AC Library.
The ACHS
FCCLA will sponsor a blood drive 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 18 in the
Elementary Gym. Appointments are

Hudson
R-IX Christmas Program, “The Littlest Christmas Tree”, presented by K-8th,
along with a preschool performance as well, will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday,
December 13 in the gym. All are welcome.
Montrose
VFW Post 8820 will sponsor visits with Santa Saturday, December 16 at 1:00 p.m.
Our community
is ringing the bell at Food Fair on Fridays and Saturdays until Christmas. This
year, total collection will go to AC Area Ministerial Alliance and the Backpack
Program. These programs are for the
community funded by our/your community. Thank you for your continued support.
Area
residents are invited to vote for their favorites on Rural Missouri Magazine’s
“Best of Rural Missouri” favorites website.
You can promote our area by voting for local businesses or attractions. You do not need to vote for every category,
just the ones you feel comfortable with. Entering your area favorites could
allow you to win $500. The deadline to vote is January 15, 2024. One regional

MU
Extension in St. Clair County is offering a Beginning Beekeeping Workshop on
Tuesday, December 19, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 555
Walnut Street in Osceola. If you are considering trying your hand at
beekeeping, this class is for you. Before you invest in bees and equipment,
knowledge is essential. Join MU Agronomist, Terry Halleran, as he provides
important information focusing on getting started in the world of honeybees.
There is no cost to attend but registration is required. Call the St. Clair
County Extension office at 417-646-2419 to register.
If you
are looking for a novel gift for someone the Appleton City area, AC Chamber
Bucks might be worth checking out. The
Bucks are issued in $10, $15 and $25 denominations and can be used like cash at
most Appleton City business establishments.
Using the Bucks increases local business and “keeps the money in
town”. To purchase the Bucks, or for

Nominations
are being accepted for the January 14-20 public election of St. Clair County’s
University of Missouri Extension Council. Candidate recommendations may be made
by contacting the county extension center, (417) 646-2419. Nominees will then
be contacted to secure their permission before being placed on the ballot.
Nominations for the 5 open positions must be made prior to December 20, 2023. 2
Candidates are needed from the North District (Appleton, Monegaw, Chalk Level,
Butler, Jackson, Center Osage and Taber Townships). 3Candidates are needed from
the South District (Osceola, Polk, Dallas, Doyal, Roscoe, Speedwell, Washington
and Collins Townships). St. Clair County’s council election will be held at the
same time as all other counties in Missouri, the third week of January (specifically
Jan. 14-20, 2024). The election is being held in accordance with state law
(Chapter 262.550-262.620 R.S. Mo. 1969).
