On September 4th, 2023 the City of Archie teamed up with the “Monument Guy”, Jesse Schowengerdt out of Butler Missouri to rehab the Veteran’s Memorial Monument located at Hodges Park in Archie Missouri.
After seeing the size of the Monument, Jesse came up with a plan. Jesse suggested enlisting the help of the community for the restoration. Jesse was able to enlist the Archie Scouts Troop 242 for this project. The completion of this project was twofold. This project was to honor those who have served our country and to restore the Monument to a like new condition. It was also an Eagle Scout Project led by Kenny Waring photographed with the Owner of “Monument Guy” Jesse Schowengerdt. Following the completion of the project, a flag ceremony was conducted by Troop 242, replacing the weathered American Flag. We ask that you go by and see the completed work.
