The Adrian Optimist Club is pleased to honor Students of the
Month from the Miami, Ballard, and Adrian schools. Criteria for this honor is outstanding
academic and civic achievement and school spirit. Staff at each of the schools make the
selection. Their decision is based on
expansion of these criteria, but a student stepping up to a particular task can
come to play in it. Each student is
honored with a certificate of recognition from the Adrian Optimist Club and
$20.00 in Adrian Chamber of Commerce “Chamber Bucks.”
Miami’s September Student of the Month is junior, Jessica
Mae Loper. She is the daughter of
William Dean Loper and sister to Haylee Dawn Hardy. She participates in basketball, softball,
cheer, FFA, and Yearbook in school. Her
outside activities are competitive softball, art/painting, and sometimes
showing animals.
Jessica states that Mr. Brewster along with her sisters,
Haylee and Harley are her inspiration.
She would like to attend a two year college and then go to Missouri
Southern or Crowder to become a radiology and ultrasound tech.
Staff comments about Jessica are that she is soft spoken and
polite. She has good work ethics and
will seek out help or ask questions to assure she is on the right track and
doing her best.
