 The AC Fall City Wide Garage Sales dates are set for September 22 - 23. Permits are $5 and can be purchased at City Hall through noon on Wednesday September 20. Permits to set up in the AC Park are $25 for the pole shelter, $15 for the stage, $10 for lawn permits and these fees cover both days. Park permits can also be purchased at City Hall on a first come, first served basis and cannot be reserved by phone. Maps will be available at Food Fair, Casey's, Fika & Powell's True Value beginning Thursday afternoon. House of Joy Ministry will be at the City Park Saturday from 3:00-5:00 to pick up donations. The ACHS Homecoming parade will be 2:30 p.m. September 22. The theme for homecoming is Barbie!  If anyone is interested in being part of the parade, please contact Lindsey Rivera at 660-464-2575 or email [email protected]. The community is invited to join in the dress up days, Wednesday - Weird Barbie (dress wacky/mismatched), Thursday - In Our Barbie Era (dress like a Barbie from any era) and Friday - Spirit Day (wear red white and blue). The coronation will be during halftime of the football game against College Heights, which starts at 7:00 p.m.

 

Appleton City residential fall cleanup will take place Tuesday, September 26 – Thursday, September 28.  Large dumpsters will be located at the Public Works Building, 110 S. Maple (across from the swimming pool).  You will be responsible for getting your items into the roll-off containers.  There will be 1 20 yard roll-off container for appliances, TV’s, computers and monitors available and 2 30 yard roll-off container will be available for sofas, carpets and other approved wastes.  No tires, liquid paint, batteries, motor oils, concrete, cleaning solvents or yard waste can be accepted.

 

The annual Community Block Party, sponsored by Ellett Memorial Hospital and A.C. Clinic, will be 9:00 – 2:00 Saturday, September 30, 2023.

Did you know that the EMH Community Block Party offers affordable yearly lab work? Lab tests available include: BMP/TSH, BMP/Lipid Panel/TSH, Hemoglobin A1C, and PSA. Prices range from $15-$30 per test. In addition, several healthcare vendors will have booths at the Block Party. A Pulled Pork Fund Raising meal for the Rockville Cemetery will be held at the Rockville Methodist Church Fellowship Hall starting at 5:00 p.m. on September 30. Free will donations will be accepted.  All proceeds go to the Rockville Cemetery Association. There will be a raffle for either a quilt or a gift certificate for a gun shop. Raffle tickets are $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00. The drawing will be at 7:00 p.m. You do not have to be there to win.  For more information, please call 660-679-1809.

 

The AC FBLA will host Pink Night this year at the Volleyball Game on October 5, the Football Game on October 6, and the Basketball Game TBD. The theme this year is: "Beat Out Cancer, Keep the Music Going".  The theme for their Community Service Project was chosen to honor Jeanette Hill who has given many years of service to the school and community. All proceeds this year will be going to her to assist with expenses as she continues her treatment against this disease. If you wish to order a t-shirt or hoodie please place your order by September 22 by contacting Mrs. Freemyer at [email protected]. FBLA is also putting together a picture tribute board to honor Jeanette and they welcome any pictures that you would like displayed. A fish fry benefit fundraiser will be held 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. September 22 at the Fair Haven Park on Hwy C, 8 miles north of Walker, MO. The menu includes fried fish and hush puppies, baked beans, cole slaw and homemade bread and butter.  Freshly cranked ice cream and homemade pies (baked by the community ladies) will be served for dessert. A freewill donation will benefit Stoney Creek, Walnut Creek and Shady Lawn Schools. 

 

Living Waters Ranch, Osceola, Missouri, will have a FREE Annual Fall Festival, October 7, 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. rain or shine.  Come out for a full day of family friendly fun, including pumpkins, Balloon Lady (noon-4:00 p.m.), hayride, Zip Line off the bluff, special music, archery, outdoor games, giant slide, barrel train, BB guns with the Sheriff’s Dept., photo ops, and more!  No outside food or drinks, please.
