An Amish father remains behind bars on several charges after he allegedly molested two teenagers in Missouri.

Vernon County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Aug. 11 indicate that Alvin Troyer, 45, of Scottsville, Kentucky, has been charged with multiple child sex crimes.

A probable cause statement filed by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office revealed that on July 5, 2024, law enforcement officials were called to aid in an investigation with the Children’s Division.

Investigators said they learned that Troyer had been accused of inappropriately touching two teenage girls. As a result, he had been removed from his home and the Amish Church Support Group.

During an interview with Children’s Services, the victims reported that Troyer had given them massages and would touch them inappropriately as he looked between their legs. During one instance, he allegedly forced one of the girls to touch his genitals.

At the time of the crimes, law enforcement officials noted that the girls were no older than 15 and 13. A warrant was issued for Troyer’s arrest on Aug. 11. He was finally taken into custody on Friday, Aug. 15.

As a result, Troyer has been charged with two counts of child molestation in the first degree and a single count of child molestation in the second degree.

If convicted, state statutes dictate that Troyer could be ordered to serve multiple life sentences. As of Friday, Aug. 22, he remains behind bars on a $100,000 bond.

A bond appearance hearing is expected to be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 25. No further information has been released.
